These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Kinode Transcripts (the “Service”), including the web application, the HTTP API, and any related integrations. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Kinode Transcripts converts publicly available video captions and user-uploaded media into text transcripts, and generates AI-assisted outputs from those transcripts such as summaries, chapters, translations, quotes, study material, and conversational answers. AI-generated outputs are produced automatically and may contain errors. They are provided for convenience and are not professional advice of any kind.

2. Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials safe.
You are responsible for all activity under your account and your API keys.
Notify us promptly at our support address if you suspect unauthorized access.
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms in your jurisdiction.

3. Acceptable use

Use the Service only with content you are permitted to access. When transcribing third-party platform content (for example YouTube), you are responsible for complying with that platform's terms of service.
Only upload media that you own or have the rights to process. Do not upload unlawful content or content that infringes the rights of others.
Do not abuse the Service: no attempts to circumvent quotas or rate limits, resell access without authorization, probe or disrupt the infrastructure, or use the API for bulk scraping beyond your plan's allowances.
We may throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts engaged in abuse.

4. Subscriptions, credits, and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or yearly) or as one-time credit purchases, as shown at checkout.
Recurring quotas reset each billing cycle and do not roll over. Credit packs are valid for the period stated at purchase.
You can cancel at any time from your account page; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.
Prices may change; changes apply from your next billing cycle after notice.

5. API access

API keys are personal to your account. Keep them secret; rotate them if exposed.
API usage counts against the same quota as the web workspace unless stated otherwise.
We may change API endpoints with reasonable notice for breaking changes.

6. Content and intellectual property

You retain all rights to media you upload and to the transcripts of your own content. We claim no ownership over your content. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the Service: storing, processing, caching, and returning your content and derived outputs to you. The Service itself, including its software, design, and branding, remains our property.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time via support. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms, unlawful use, or extended non-payment. Upon termination we may delete cached transcripts and uploaded media associated with your account.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of transcripts or AI outputs, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless applicable law requires otherwise.
